Pokémon GO: Anego is the new boss of GO Fest 2022 - It's that strong

The second day of Pokemon GO Fest 2022 brings the new tier 5 boss, Anego. We’ll show you how strong the first ultra beast is here.

What kind of monster is Anego? With Anego, a completely new type of monster lands in the game: The “Ultra Beasts”. These monsters from another dimension threatened the Alola region in the main games and found themselves in battle with the island guardians – Tapu-Riki, Tapu-Fala, Tapu-Toro, and Tapu-Kime.

They are being studied by the Ultra Research team. This is now also represented in Pokémon GO with Rhi as part of the new special research.

The ultra beasts can be compared to legendary monsters purely in terms of values and apparently get exactly this treatment in Pokémon GO. Anego appeared at GO Fest as a Tier 5 raid boss. You can also get it through the Glowing World Special Research if you have a ticket.

Important: In the coming weeks, Groudon and Kyogre will be back in the raids. So Anego can probably only be caught today, June 5th.

That’s how strong Anego is in Pokémon GO

How good is Anego? Anego is a Rock and Poison-type Ultra Beast, not Water as you might think. Don’t be fooled by their jellyfish appearance: the Ultra Beasts often look very different from what they are.

Purely in terms of values, Anego ranks high among the poison attackers and is actually the best monster there, apart from Crypto and Mega Pokémon.

The problem is his attack combination: Anego can learn the instant attack acid and the charged attack mud bomb in Pokémon GO. While Sludge Bomb is a good move, Acid isn’t very convincing. “Poison Slash” would have been the better move here – but unfortunately Anego can’t learn that at the moment.

In addition, poison attackers are rarely needed in Pokémon GO raids.

In addition, Anego completely lacks the ability to learn a rock instant attack. This means that it is overtaken by numerous other monsters when it comes to rock attackers.

Is Anego still worth it? The values of Anego are strong, the attacks are only conditionally so. Still, it remains a good Poison-type raid attacker, but you rarely need it. In PvP, the jellyfish also does not (yet) play a role.

Nevertheless, you should secure at least one copy to complete the Pokédex. And who knows: Maybe the Ultra Beast can still learn Poison Slash in the future.
