WoW: The Ve’nari Mystery – Mysterious letter surfaced

WoW: Vengeance Demon Hunter Tank Guide (Update for 9.0.5)

The ominous mediator Ve’nari, who we meet at the beginning of our journey through the abyss of the shadow lands and who – with certain ulterior motives – supports us in the fight against the jailer, has been giving players various riddles since her first appearance. Patch 9.2.5 doesn’t do much better, but Ve’nari is at the center of some strange events. Now more clues have appeared in the game files as to what the mediator is planning in the future.
WARNING: SPOILERS follow!

The middle Ve’nari and her long, strange journey

As we explained in a detailed Ve’nari story article in Patch 9.2.5, Ve’nari isn’t really dead at all. She just faked her death to – well, why? That wasn’t really clear until now. While players have the ability to find out that Ve’nari’s death was just a clever fake after discovering her corpse using Articulated Ectoplasmic Goggles (crafted via Engineering), what really lies behind it remains an open question. So far anyway.

World of Warcraft | Dragon riding has a lot of potential – please don’t screw it up, Blizzard!

Because the data miners from wow.tools have in the game files of patch 9.2.5 discovered a letter from Ve’nari, in which she tells us that she faked her death. In the letter the mediator writes (translated by us):
“I really hope you didn’t think I died in Zereth Mortis. My apologies, but what is a fake death between partners working together? My plans went ‘smoothly’, as did you mortals likes to say. With your help, I was able to create a device within Zereth Mortis that allows me to travel the cosmos. I am no longer bound by the Maw, and now the Kartel Ve will think I am dead. A whole existence stands open to me, with plenty of options. I even met someone named Xolartios who offered to be my guide. I’m sure we’ll meet again when I need reliable guidance again. Yours sincerely, Ve’nari.”

Does Ve’nari really just want to travel the cosmos?

So it’s clear: Ve’nari needed the collected Stygia we brought her to escape the Maw and build some kind of motorhome. Ve’nari’s leader, the Eternal Traveler Xolartios, should look familiar to WoW fans who bought the Heroic or Epic versions of Shadowlands. This includes the Enchanted Everwyrm mount, which you can use to summon Xolartios. The latter gives you the quest “The Eternal Traveler“, for which you will receive a special transmog set as a reward.
