Contraband: Rights to the trademark applied for by Microsoft

Microsoft recently applied for protection for the Contraband brand name.

Last Thursday, Microsoft applied to the US Patent and Trademark Office for the rights to the Contraband name for video games and software.

Contraband was announced last year. The game is being developed exclusively for the Xbox by Avalanche Studios (Just Cause series).

Not much is known about Contraband. Over 150 people work at Avalanche on the game, which aims to focus on vehicular combat.

Of the current application on protection of trademark rights could be an indication that there will soon be news about the game.
