The “Best VTuber” on Twitch Streams as a Naked Homeless – Gets Banned for the 4th Time

The "Best VTuber" on Twitch Streams as a Naked Homeless - Gets Banned for the 4th Time

Youna “CodeMiko” Kang received the award for “Best Female VTuber” on Twitch at the 2022 Streamer Awards. The VTuber came up with something very special for her viewers for her last stream and went blank. Twitch banned her for the action.

What is a VTuber? VTubers usually use an anime-style avatar to represent their emotions and character. The avatar is the replacement of a normal facecam in the stream.

Who is the streamer?

  • The VTuber currently has around 895,000 followers, 2,800 average viewers and 2,235 subscribers on Twitch. This makes her one of the top streamers on the platform.
  • CodeMiko is mostly in the “Just Chatting” area and chats with its fans about all sorts of topics.
  • Most recently she played Skyrim, GeoGuessr and Elden Ring. The latter not only has fans in the VTube area, but also the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, plays the action RPG.
  • Now CodeMiko has been banned from Twitch for the 4th time after her stream – but nobody was really surprised.

What stream was that? In March, the VTuber presented her avatar with new hair and stylish clothes – her fans mostly celebrated the change. Exactly this avatar she took off the new outfit completely and pixelated her breasts and the genital area.

Then she placed him in an alley and her viewers could throw garbage, money or bombs at the avatar in exchange for bits or start other actions.

If you want to watch the entire stream, you can archive.org do. A Twitter user posted a screenshot of the stream:

What are bits? A bit is Twitch’s currency that you can purchase for real money. 100 bits cost 1.47 euros. For 11.75 euros, viewers could force the VTuber avatar to vomit, for example. The streamers then receive a share of the bits used.

What happened then? CodeMiko captioned their stream “CODEMIKO MAY GET BAN TODAY”. Apparently she knew she was outside the guidelines. And indeed, Twitch banned the streamer for the 4th time after the broadcast.

The VTuberin heated up the spirits Twitter again when she posted “Perma???”. But Twitch colleague JustaMinx and TwitchSpy explained in the answers that it was a temporary 30-day ban.

Previously, CodeMiko received a ban for using the word “simp” in the live stream, which Twitch no longer allows on the platform.

What does Twitch’s policy say? Twitch does not allow sexually suggestive content from streamers. Nudity is part of it, of course, and VTuber avatars are no exception.
