Call of Duty returns to Steam with Modern Warfare 2

After a five-year absence, Activision is bringing the Call of Duty series back to Steam with Modern Warfare 2.

On October 28, 2022, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on both Steam and Battle.net.

Back on the platform again

The last title in the series to be released on Steam was Call of Duty: WW2, developed by Sledgehammer, in 2017.

All subsequent parts and the Battle Royale offshoot Call of Duty Warzone were then offered on the PC exclusively via Battle.net.

Activision studio Beenox is developing the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, promising a “fully optimized experience.”

Given the continued popularity of Valve’s platform, we’re sure the community will welcome the series’ return there. It also gives us a better idea of ​​how popular the game is post-launch using Steam stats.

It is not yet known whether PC players can play together via Steam and Battle.net.
