Gamescom 2022: ticket sales started / prices have risen sharply – News
After a two-year break, in August 2022 the Gamescom take place again on site in Cologne. Even with an audience. From August 23rd to 28th, 2022, the video game fair will again offer various stands where you can queue up and, after a while, try out the latest titles from a wide variety of developers. Public traffic will start on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
Now the ticket sale has started and the prices might surprise veterans of you. Because compared to Gamescom 2019, they have increased significantly. The called tariffs are as follows:

For comparison: In 2019, the day ticket for Saturday and Sunday with the early bird rate was 19.50 euros, regular 21.50 euros. The increase is likely due to a variety of factors. On the one hand, there was no Gamescom in either 2020 or 2021, which meant that the organizers had to accept high financial losses. In addition, the ticket contingent will be greatly reduced for this year’s edition in order to be able to continue to guarantee the safety and health of visitors.
The discounted tickets are valid for the usual groups of people: pupils, students, trainees, pensioners, seniors over 65 years of age, severely disabled people and people doing social services. Appropriate proof is of course required in each case.
There are also two new ticket types: With the Green Ticket you support the Gamescom Forest by voluntarily paying one euro more. The Superfan Ticket, on the other hand, brings an additional Fast Lane Pass, which gives you a total of three and means less waiting time. You will also receive various digital benefits on the Gamescom site.
For the purchase you have to register on the Gamescom homepage, you also need a special app for your ticket. Printed maps will no longer be available this year, the app is available for Android and iOS.
