New Champ Coming to LoL Today - Bel'Veth Had Too Insane Ability: "She Would Never Have Died"

Patch 12.11 goes live in League of Legends today, June 8th. He brings a new champion, jungler Bel’Veth, to LoL. Riot is now letting you look at the cards and tell you which ability of the “Empress of the Void” sounded insanely cool but would have messed up the whole game.

This is the situation:

LoL: Trailer Shows Off New Jungle Champion Bel’Veth In Gameplay – Mobile And Murderous

This is how Bel’Veth is intended: As the “dad of Bel’Veth”, Ryan “Reave3” Mireles reveals, they wanted to create a kind of female counterpart to Renekton, Nasus or Rengar with Bel’Veth. A “monstrous humanoid woman”. Something was missing in League of Legends.

Ultimately, however, as always, the concept morphed and the result was a heroine designed with the “emptiness” in mind.

The idea is that “the void” devours beings and then assembles new beings from those parts. Thus, Bel’Veth is a fusion of many humans and animals, and other sea creatures that she found in a city’s port.

This concept of devouring is also reflected in their current Ultimate.

Incidentally, it was also Mireles who explained in April which 3 champions are coming to LoL next.

The new League of Legends champion can attack infinitely fast – in theory

Bel’Veth could have moved freely across the map while dead

What was the too bad ability? Mireles says:

“At one point in development, Bel’Event would simply never have died. When killed, she jumped into the void.”

The idea was that Bel’Veth,

  • was able to move freely around the map and interact “a little” with other games for the entire time she was dead – thanks to her abilities
  • at the time, friends and foes alike would only have perceived them as “a small, purple-colored glowing ball”.
  • However, once the death timer expired, Bel’Veth would have returned to the map where it was.

Why isn’t that coming? Mireles says unfortunately LoL players would never see this “crazy and awesome ability”. Because the skill would have led to a lot of problems in the gameplay.

In LoL, champions change over time, but hardly anyone as blatant as he is here:

No one wanted to play the least popular champ in LoL history, even if he won every match
