Diablo Immortal is the "biggest launch in franchise history"

Blizzard announces that Diablo Immortal is the biggest launch in the history of the entire franchise. This information comes shortly after the extreme review bombing on Metacritic, which saw the game earn the lowest user rating of any Blizzard title to date, scoring 0.4 on PC and 0.5 on mobile.

Many try it but drop because of the microtransactions

In a new tweet released today by Diablo Immortal’s official Twitter account, Blizzard writes, “In just one week, Diablo Immortal is the biggest launch in franchise history.”

To support this claim, the company also shares an image showing that the title has now been installed more than 10 million times. As the first free-to-play game in the franchise, the hurdle to getting into the game is of course much smaller than with a full-price title.

Keeping the players should be the bigger challenge here, because many fans are already complaining about the nasty pay-to-win mechanisms, which cause major inequalities between paying players and F2P players, especially in PvP.
