Dragon Age Absolution: Series officially announced with trailer!

Dragon Age 4 is now called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, more information will follow (1)

Many of you will join us Dragon Age certainly associate the fairly popular video games, but players can experience the franchise through other media as well. For example, there is a fairly successful comic series based on the BioWare universe, and a Dragon Age tabletop RPG is also available. And who could ever forget the 2011 TV series Dragon Age: Redemption or the 2012 movie Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker? Well, probably most of them.

New Dragon Age series officially unveiled

However, BioWare did not give up on the mediocre success of its previous TV experiments and has now announced a brand new one as part of Geeked Week 2022 animation series in the Dragon Age universe. Called Dragon Age: Absolution the show was developed in collaboration between BioWare and Netflix. Absolution is supposed to be in Tevinter and feature an ensemble cast of new characters “inspired by the backstory of Dragon Age.” Among them, of course, elves, mages, qunari, demons, and other “special surprises.”

The production of the new Dragon Age series takes over Red Dog Culture Housewhich among other things already The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf worked. Mairghread Scott, known for her work on the Transformers series and some Marvel films, acts as showrunner. With these well-known names, Dragon Age fans can hopefully look forward to an exciting series.

In the accompanying trailer we already learn a little more about the entire setting of the new series. From the looks of it, we’re definitely going to see a lot of action. Exactly what the plot will be about is not yet known, but the Tevinter Empire definitely offers enough evil to craft a heroic tale. Finally, among other things, Tevinter is the only realm where slavery is still entirely legal, although of course it still occurs in other nations as well.

Above all, our elven protagonist, who also adorns the logo of the new series, should be quite interesting for many Dragon Age fans. Members of the Dalish tattoo the symbol of their preferred deity on their faces. However, our heroine’s symbol has never been a choice in any Dragon Age title. Maybe it’s just a simple take on a familiar tattoo, or the new series is our first glimpse of the followers of Fen’Harel the dire wolf.
