The Callisto Protocol: New gameplay trailer exudes Deadspace vibe

The developers of The Callisto Protocol have released a new gameplay trailer for their horror shooter as part of Summer Game Fest 2022. Deadspace fans will get their money’s worth.

They’re finally here, the first gameplay trailers from Summer Game Fest 2022 for The Callisto Protocol, the horror shooter by former Deadspace and CoD developer Glen Schofield and his team at Striking Distance Studios. What becomes clear at first glance: The Callisto Protocol cannot deny Deadspace as a role model, because the trailers immediately give rise to a similar sci-fi horror feeling.

Will the shooter appear uncut in Germany?

The developers at Striking Distance Studios have released two trailers, each containing gameplay scenes. Both trailers clearly show the intense and oppressive atmosphere of the horror shooter: A mixture of cleverly used lighting effects paired with a good deal of brutality and gore and the feeling that your character’s death could be lurking around every corner – be it at the hands of the enemy or even an accident – should make genre fans’ mouths water.

The second trailer also shows the special abilities of the main character Jacob as well as various combat passages with melee and ranged attacks. In addition, we see the different enemy types and the high disgust factor of the game. The scenes in the two videos are sometimes extremely brutal and raise the question of whether The Callisto Protocol will appear uncut in this country – an 18+ release should be guaranteed in any case.

The Callisto Protocol is scheduled for release on December 2nd, 2022 for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. We’re not sure if buyers of the last-gen version will get a free upgrade to the next-gen version, but it doesn’t look like it.
