AMD Ryzen 7000 and 8000 – New processors even more powerful than expected

AMD Ryzen - New processors maybe even stronger than expected

The new AMD Ryzen 7000 processor may be even stronger than expected. The manufacturer AMD revealed this in a presentation including new details and performance data.

Santa Clara, California — Processor manufacturer AMD released new information about its future products at Financial Analyst Day 2022. A reference to the performance of the new processors from the AMD Ryzen 7000 series, which is to be launched alongside the new AM5 mainboards in the third quarter of 2022, was particularly interesting. However, AMD has not yet given a fixed sale date for the processors. As far as the new AMD Ryzen 7000 is concerned, it was previously known that individual models in the series should offer an impressive clock rate of 5.0 GHz per thread.

AMD Ryzen 7000 – The processor will probably be even more powerful than initially expected.

But the AMD Ryzen 7000 seems to deliver even more performance than previously thought. AMD suggested that the peak clock rate should even be 5.5 GHz. The performance that can be achieved per individual core seems to be higher than previously expected. Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster even spoke of an increase of up to ten percent.

Apparently, this increase in performance is due to the “Zen-4” processor architecture and a new manufacturing process. How the performance ultimately affects a laptop or PC will only become apparent in the near future. However, experts are hoping for a significant leap in performance from the new hardware.

But the manufacturer wants to start introducing the new “Zen 5” architecture as early as 2024, as the company announced with an official roadmap in the presentation. In addition, AMD plans to release new graphics cards such as the RX 7900 XT this year. Due to the ongoing chip crisis, which is also responsible for the lack of consoles like the PS5 or the Xbox Series X, it remains to be seen whether AMD will be able to provide enough hardware for the market.
