Soulstice: Dark action RPG with new story trailer and release date
Announced last year, the action RPG Soulstice is slowly but surely approaching the final development phase. With the newly released story trailer, publisher Modus Games and developer Reply Game Studios have now revealed the release date for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
As Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn also says Soulstice on ours List of upcoming, most exciting Soulslike projects. Despite the gloomy setting and the similarity in name, the fast-paced battles in Soulstice, in which aerial maneuvers are also possible, now remind us more of a Devil May Cry. Either way, you should definitely keep an eye on the action RPG from publisher Modus Games and developer Reply Game Studios. That’s what Soulstice is about
So Soulstice will be released on September 20, 2022 for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. And what’s the point? “The balance of the Holy Kingdom of Keidas is threatened when powerful, untamed creatures invade from the other side of the veil to devour all life. They infest their victims and can even take possession of their bodies. Only the so-called Chimeras, which arise from the union of two souls, can protect humanity.

Briar and Lute are two sisters reincarnated as Chimera. The transformation gave Briar superhuman strength and resilience, while Lute was sacrificed to bind her soul to her sister’s. So she took the form of a ghost that has mystical powers. On a mission to reclaim a city devastated by creatures, Briar and Lute discover that their order appears to have a secret plan.”

A month ago, a combat trailer for Soulstice was released (buy now €49.99) appeared, which gives you a comprehensive impression of the gameplay of the game in just under 10 minutes.
The key features of the action role-playing game read as follows:
- Fight in synergy – Play both characters at the same time. Briar is adept at melee attacks and combos, while Lute controls the battlefield with her otherworldly abilities. Combine the sisters’ strengths and master powerful transformations to unlock their true potential as Chimera.
- Custom weapons and skills – Weapons are unlocked and upgraded as the game progresses, and can even be swapped mid-combo to deal more damage to enemies.
- Explore the city of Ilden – Unravel mysteries and solve puzzles in different locations in the ruins of a city. There is a crack in the sky. The closer Briar and Lute get to this, the more menacing and strange their surroundings appear.
- Experience a gloomy world – Immerse yourself in a dark tale of sisterly love, captured in simple yet stylish imagery inspired by classic Japanese fantasy.
- Fight different enemy classes – Wraiths, Corrupted and Taken have entered the world from beyond the veil. Use Lute’s auras to weaken or reveal them and engage in battles that are unlike any other.
- Solve the mystery of your origins – As the game progresses, Briar and Lute will discover the truth about themselves and their powers. However, they must work together to stay true to their unbreakable bond.
