Assassin's Creed Celebration Stream: What's on display?

With or without E3, June remains an exciting and exciting month for gaming fans worldwide. During the Summer Game Fest, Geoff Keighley presented countless new games and updates to well-known hits, Xbox and Bethesda showed what Xbox Game Pass has in store for the next twelve months (quite a lot!). There were also smaller but all the more charming shows, for example from Devolver Digital, Capcom and many more.

So far we assumed that we would get nothing from the French publisher Ubisoft in terms of themes – according to a major leak from Tom Henderson, the company is planning a late summer event at which the popular game brands from Ubisoft (Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Fenyx Rising, Splinter Cell, Skull & Bones and more) are in the spotlight. But now there is a surprising update from Ubisoft: Today a show is to be held, more precisely a “Celebration Stream” for Assassin’s Creed, which is 15 years old. We have all the info on the celebrations, where you can attend and what to expect.

15 years of Assassin’s Creed: When and where can I watch the stream?

The big anniversary event is taking place today, so on June 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m instead of. It’s all about the huge brand Assassin’s Creed, which celebrated its debut in 2007. Anyone who therefore suspects a lack of topics need not worry: in addition to countless games, the assassin series also includes a number of comics as well as film and series plans (Live-action series for Netflix?), which could also be presented on the digital stage. You can find the stream on the one hand on the official Ubisoft YouTube channelon the other hand directly here on Twitch.

Rift, Infinity & Co.: What is shown on the Celebration Stream?

With a big brand like Assassin’s Creed, it’s little wonder that rumors and leaks abound on the internet about the next great adventure. Assassin’s Creed Infinity was announced in 2021 and is considered the most ambitious AC game that Ubisoft (including the Montreal and Quebec studios) has ever developed – sounds like typical marketing blah, but could also be related to the live service model that is supposedly planned is.

According to Henderson, there is a new hub within the game in which the animus plays a major role. This should make it possible to travel to several time periods and experience adventures that are gradually being expanded by Ubisoft with new content. According to the leak, the game should only appear in a few years, at the earliest in 2024.

Much more likely is an appearance by the mysterious Assassin’s Creed Rift (possibly a working title). Rumors have been circulating about the game since February. Allegedly, Rift was originally available as DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (buy now €24.99 /€53.99 ) planned, but then went its own way in the development process. The action-adventure developed by the AC main studio, i.e. Ubisoft Montreal, should break away from the open-world approach of the last three parts and rely more on stealth. A release is planned for the first half of 2023.

Furthermore, there are certainly updates to the multimedia implementations (comics, TV & Co.), but also possibly one or the other surprise to older games. New content for Valhalla, the planned crossover event, a presentation for Origins (now with 60 FPS) and maybe even re-releases of old parts (often requested: a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag). We are looking forward to the stream and look forward to the announcements about the popular assassin family around Desmond Miles, Altair, Ezio & Co.
