Resident Evil 4: Capcom Showcase 2022: New information & scenes from the remake

Resident Evil 4 (Action-Adventure) von Capcom

Of course, crowd favorite Resident Evil 4 was the focus of Capcom’s show yesterday. There were a few new scenes to see – and the information that you will play the game in third person again.

Yasuhiro Anpo, the director of the remake, and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the game’s producer, had a few words to say about the much-anticipated game: They assured that Capcom is of course approaching the reinterpretation, the modern painting for Resi 4 very carefully. The feeling of loneliness and the fear of what lies ahead should be even stronger than in the original. Capcom promises action-packed fights – those who know the remakes of Resident Evil 2 & 3 know what to expect in this regard.

Story-wise, of course, it’s about Leon S. Kennedy. After surviving the zombie apocalypse in Raccoon City, he reports directly to the US President as a special agent. And of course he has to work when his young daughter is kidnapped – again it goes to a remote village in Europe where the locals speak Spanish. According to Capcom, the “Ganados” have been completely redesigned to better convey what it means when a group of people is controlled by madness.

In the few new game scenes that we have linked to you below as a video, we also see Mr. Kennedy in the typical camera perspective: the camera placed close behind the character gives you a good overview, but is always close to the action. Unfortunately, Anpo and Hirabayashi did not reveal which control tricks will make playing, steering and shooting even easier for us next year.

Capcom pointed out the release date of March 24, 2023 several times, although this has not been any new information since last week. Resident Evil 4 is coming to PC, PS5 and both Xbox Series consoles.
