Warzone: Season 4 brings new map - will it replace the popular Rebirth Island?

With Season 4, Warzone is apparently getting a new card – Fortune’s Keep. However, some players fear that the popular Rebirth Island could be eliminated.

Santa Monica, California – On December 9, 2021, Warzone was treated to a truly brand new map for the last time. But as it looks, it will soon be that time again. With Season 4, which should start at the end of June, the next new map for Call of Duty’s own Battle Royale will soon appear. We summarize what is known about it so far.

Warzone: New map for Season 4 teased

What’s the deal with the new map? It’s official: Warzone will get a new map in the upcoming Season 4. Activision teased the name of the new map last night via the official Call of Duty Twitter account in the style of Wheel of Fortune.

When the game was resolved, it came out a short time later: the new card will be called “Fortune’s Keep” to match the wheel of fortune teaser.

When exactly is the card coming? According to the official Call of Duty Twitter account next season, i.e. as part of the upcoming Season 4. An exact date was not given. But the current Season 3 of Warzone ends as it looks on June 22nd, so the new Season 4 should start either on the same day or at least immediately after June 22nd, 2022.

However, it is not yet known whether the new map will come into play directly at the start of the next season or with the traditional mid-season update. So far, however, the community has been speculating more about the start of Season 4.

Warzone: Today we have the first look at the new map “Fortune’s Keep”

This is what we currently know about the map: Except for the name “Fortune’s Keep” and Season 4 as a rough release period, unfortunately not really much – not even whether it’s a small map in the style of Rebirth Island or a larger map like Caldera or Verdansk . But that is likely to change soon.

When will there be more information? According to the official tweet, today, June 13, the Tac-Map is the tactical view of the new map to be unveiled. Here players should get a first impression of how the new game world for Warzone is structured. It could also provide information about the size of the new map – for many the currently most exciting question mark behind the upcoming map.

This concerns many players: Aside from the size of the map, what players and fans are currently most excited about is how the new map will be implemented into the game. Will it be the third map for Warzone next to Caldera and Rebirth Island? Or will CoD’s Battle Royale stay with two maps and Fortune’s Keep will replace the popular Rebirth Island? So far there is no answer. But some experts and parts of the community are betting on a rather small map and think it is possible that Rebirth Island, the previous small Warzone map, will actually be replaced.

The story (yes, Warzone actually tells a story season after season) provides some potential clues to such a development. In short: In the current story about Season 3, it is summarized, among other things, that the base on Rebirth Island has been blown and you may have to leave the island. Stay tuned for more details on extraction protocols and new tasks. This can definitely be interpreted as the approaching end for the popular small island. But we should know more about this soon.

By the way, Warzone 2 has also been making more and more talk of itself in the last few days, most recently with the release period. You can find more about this here: Warzone 2: Release in 2022 – Activision confirms the rough period
