Resident Evil 7: Free update not available on PS Plus

Capcom releases current-gen versions of Resi 2, Resi 3, and Resi 7 (1)

Resident Evil currently has some exciting projects in the works. A remake of Resident Evil 4 is to be released, Resident Evil 8 is getting a version for PSVR2, the first DLC for Resident Evil Village, which includes a third-person mode, a completely new campaign, and the Mercenary mode, is to be released in the October this year, and the multiplayer title Resident Evil Re: Verse will also be released on the same day. All of these things are nice, but unfortunately it’s still a while before players can get their hands on them.

Free upgrade but with a catch

Capcom also noticed this, which is why the publisher announced during the Capcom Showcase that the two remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, as well as Resident Evil 7, will receive a free current-gen update. Players can also download the update on the PC without any additional costs, provided, of course, that you already own the titles mentioned.

Who is Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (buy now €24.99 /€16.99 ) however, via the PlayStation Plus Collection, which is exclusive to the PlayStation 5, which is excluded from the upgrade. Instead, those players will have to purchase the new version separately. Even users on the PC are not too satisfied with the new upgrades, because they come with increased system requirements. Once the update has been installed, the game can no longer be rolled back to the older version, as Capcom itself explains. So players with weaker machines are potentially excluded from the games.
