Here you can watch the new trailer for Stalker 2 directly.

For me, a very special highlight of the past few days is characterized by neither exciting gameplay nor all sorts of new information about a game shown. Rather, it is a sign of life. One that is of particular importance these months. Three weeks ago, the Ukrainian developer GSC Game World announced that work on Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl – the new name of the end-time shooter – had resumed.

At the end of the Extended Showcase from Microsoft and Bethesda yesterday evening, the developers spoke in a compilation, talked about their work in the middle of the war and then presented a trailer that shows the beginning of the game.

Disclaimer: The war in Ukraine is discussed below, the video included below shows scenes from destroyed cities, among other things.

A game developed during war

Motion capture footage will be shown. Developers sitting in front of screens producing one of the most anticipated games. These are scenes that we have often seen in this form in developer diaries. In the case of GSC Game World, however, there is one big difference: since February 24th, development has been taking place partly in the middle of a war of aggression, only a few meters away from destroyed houses and interrupted by sirens.

As we learn from the video, not everyone from the team was able to leave their homeland, instead they continued working on the project in Kiev, Mariupol and other Ukrainian cities.

We hear from narrative designers Daria Tsepkova, as she has been doing her work in a small corridor for three months and who, according to her own statement, finds it difficult to write about violent quests when there is a real war on her doorstep. We see and hear Community Lead Maksym Tkachenkogoing about his work from inside a bathroom.
