How you remember, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords will receive free post-launch content in the near future, adding the restored Sith Lords DLC.
It will include a collection of content with new dialogue and interactions, an additional mission starring HJ-47, and a new revamped ending. Now, in a recent update, Aspyr has reduced the release to Q3 2022.
Aspyr has also clarified how exactly the DLC will work in a series of tweets – explaining how the base game saves will not be compatible with the restored DLC. Here it is in its entirety:
“The base game save files will not be compatible with The Sith Lords restored content DLC, but you can access any previous save files by disabling the DLC content in the game’s main menu”
It explained how the save files from the base game would still be accessed. after DLC releases, but new games will require players to enable DLC beforehand.
“You will need to start a new game with the DLC content enabled to access the additional content, however after the DLC is released and you still want to finish your game without DLC, you can access the base game save files by disabling the DLC in the main menu of the game”
