CoD Warzone: New anti-cheat measure should get on the cheaters’ nerves even more

The special anti-cheat software Ricochet from CoD Vanguard and Warzone is being expanded with a new function. The “Disarm” feature should get even more on the cheaters in the future.

How Disarm works: How Disarm works is as simple as it is fun. If a player is identified by the system as a cheater, the game will immediately take away their guns.

This doesn’t just refer to the firearms or melee weapons, but even their fists. This makes the cheaters completely harmless and easy prey for other players. So the function turns the tables.

There are also these features: Disarm easily fits in with the previous, extremely annoying-sounding functions that the anti-cheat system Ricochet has to offer. These include, for example:

• Damage Shield: If a cheater is identified, honest players in the match will receive a shield that drastically reduces the cheater’s damage. It ensures he wastes his ammo and can be spotted by players through hit feedback.
• Cloaking: This function ensures that the cheaters’ shots make normal players invisible. This also applies to the projectiles and the sounds of the players, making them impossible to detect.

The functions are not only designed to identify and block the cheaters, but above all to rob them of the sense of achievement that cheating gives them. Many of them are also severely humiliated.

Ricochet works, but…

There are these results: In the blog post With the information about Ricochet, the team also reports that there have been another 180,000 bans in Warzone and Vanguard since the last cheater report on April 26th. The bans happen both daily and in larger waves.

In a graph, the team shows that the matches in which Ricochet’s measures were active experienced significantly fewer cheater reports than matches in which these measures were absent. So it shows that the anti-cheat is working.

However, the battle against cheating is never over, as the blog post states. As soon as new cheat software is developed, the number of cases and reports increases again. However, Ricochet helps the developers to identify the new waves of cheaters more quickly and to react accordingly.
