Things are looking bleak for new game releases in 2022, but there is hope

Although E3 did not take place this year, there were replacements in the form of the Summer Game Fest, the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase and other smaller events. What was shown there and what will we play this year? We talk about it in the new episode of the MeinMMO podcast.

In the past few weeks there has been a lot of news about the games that we will experience in the near and distant future. The Xbox & Bethesda Showcase in particular has delivered one big piece of news after the other.

But what is immediately noticeable is the absence of AAA games as a new announcement. The big highlights in the segment were:

These were all well-known titles and most of the highlights are only planned for 2023. Nevertheless, there are still new game releases for 2022, with Hogwarts Legacy even one in the AAA segment. In addition, a number of indie games were also shown during the showcases, which look pretty exciting.
