Insomniac Hires MCU Concept Artists as Spider-Man 2 Art Director
Insomniac has enlisted the services of an experienced concept artist from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Big art for a big game
Davison Carvalho has been the game’s art director since February this year and has previously worked on Marvel films such as Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok and Captain Marvel.
The concept artist has also made a name for himself in the gaming industry, working on the user interface for games such as Mortal Kombat X, Halo Infinite, Lone Echo and Amazon’s Crucible.

Grant Hollis and Gavin Goulden, the art directors of Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, will not be involved in Spider-Man 2 as they are both currently working on the upcoming Wolverine game.

Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to appear exclusively for the PlayStation 5 in 2023 and will take Miles Morales a step further.
“I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s the next big chapter, there’s a lot of threads, a lot of characters that were in the first two games that you’re going to see here,” said Bill Rosemann, vice president of creative at Marvel Games last year.
