Alien: Isolation creators are working on a new sci-fi shooter
Alien: Isolation is often an all-time favorite among horror game fans. Not only does the menacing atmosphere provide some scary fun, but the alien is one of the most dangerous and frightening adversaries from modern horror titles. Fans of the game should be pleased to know that Creative Assembly, the studio behind Alien: Isolation, has been working on a previously unannounced sci-fi shooter for four years.
New first-person shooter from the creators of Alien: Isolation
As Gamesradar reports, comes this information from the latest issue of Edge magazine, in which Studio Director Gareth Edmondson and Creative Director Alistair Hope have revealed some new details about their new project, which is also a brand new IP. According to Hope, the developers value an eye for detail, authenticity and an understanding of the basics. However, Hope did not want to reveal exactly what basis they are building their game on.
“It’s our new intellectual property and it’s a world that we’re creating and of course we’re wringing our hands on it and we really want to get this right,” adds Chief Product Officer Rob Bartholomew. “We want to understand what authenticity looks like in a blue ocean or an open sky when you have a blank page in front of you.”
This new project certainly feels like a brand new endeavor for the studio originally designed for strategy game Total War and horror title Alien: Isolation (buy now /€35.99 ) are known. The latter also has the sci-fi elements, but a real first-person shooter hasn’t been made by Creative Assembly before. With the studio enjoying a fairly good reputation so far, this new project is well worth keeping an eye on.
