Destiny 2: Bungie receives $13.5 million in damages from a cheat company

Bungie has won the lawsuit against the creator of a Destiny 2 cheat and is therefore awarded $13.5 million in damages.

A win against cheat developers

In August 2021, the developer filed the lawsuit against the company Elite Boss Tech, which violated the copyright of the site through its cheat software. Both sides ultimately agreed to end the dispute, reports Torrentfreak.

In addition to claiming damages, Elite Boss Tech also agrees that it will not develop or make available software that infringes Bungie’s rights in the future. The company admits that its cheat software injects code into the copyrighted game and adds a graphical overlay on top of that.

The company’s cheating software provides players with aimbots, a radar, and an alert that shows players where they are being shot at. The Elite Boss Tech portfolio also includes cheats for Halo Infinite, CSGO, Dead by Daylight, Apex Legends and Warframe. Players can pay with a monthly subscription from CAD 19.95 – a little less than 15 euros.

Bungie will receive $2,000 for every Destiny 2 cheat download. This finally adds up to the total sum of 13,530,000 US dollars.
