New gadget for 600 euros gives your laptop larger monitors – is it worth it?
A manufacturer offers a gadget that allows you to triple the working area of your laptop. Looks crazy but works amazingly well. A well-known tech YouTuber tried it. MeinMMO explains to you what is behind it and whether something like this is worthwhile.
Although laptops are very mobile, they have one disadvantage: the work surface is limited, since laptop displays are often no larger than 17 inches. You can connect an additional monitor, but you would always have to carry it with you.
A manufacturer offers an alternative that allows you to triple your workspace quite simply. But the price is not without.

What is this device? The gadget presented is an attachable display from Kwumsy/Ofiyaa.
You mount this on the back of the notebook and then connect it to your device in the next step. In the best case, this is done via a USB-C port. You then have to maneuver through the Windows system settings and activate the display units.

Who is testing there? Linus Sebastian regularly tests exciting and sometimes absurd hardware with his network. In his latest video he has now tried out the special accessories for laptops.

What’s the reaction? The additional monitors will literally drain your battery. Linus and his colleague Adam explain that several hours of battery life are lost in the test with a 17-incher. If you want to use the monitor system on the go, that’s the price for the modularity.
There is also criticism of the packaging. You can elegantly fold the device from the monitors together, but the displays look outwards. In the most annoying case, you scratch your technology when you’re on the go.
- The monitors are very rigid and can hardly be moved. If you are very unhappy with the visual axes, you can’t really change them on the current model.
- The monitors are said to offer a luminance of 220 cd/m². However, Linus considers this to be “very optimistic.”
The gadget is probably only worthwhile to a limited extent if you are looking for a second monitor for your setup.
Because the price of 600 US dollars (around 570 euros) is quite high. For the money you now get two good mid-range monitors that you can also connect to your laptop – but without the comfortable design and also takes up significantly more space.
