3 powerful champions in LoL, voted for by the pros in almost every match right now

In League of Legends, the Summer Split started last weekend in many leagues. We summarize which champions are particularly strong at the moment so that they are either banned or played. At the top of all major leagues are three heroes in particular.

Which champions are these? For this listing we looked at the four big leagues – LEC, LCS, LPL and LCK. The result was three champions, who were noticed by the pros in almost all of the 113 games (via gol.gg):

  • Wukong – Played 55 times, banned 54 times – 96.5% of all games played or banned
  • Lucian – Played 22 times, banned 86 times – 95.6% of all games played or banned
  • Gwen – Played 29 times, banned 74 times – 91.1% of all games played or banned

Viego and Ahri follow in 4th and 5th place, but only achieve values of around 80%. In the European LEC they are only considered in 60% (Ahri) and 53% (Viego) of the games.

By the way, there are also 5 champions that the pros don’t choose at all.

Just a few days ago, Riot introduced the new AD Carry. Check out Nilah in this video:

Despite the nerf, Wukong is making a big comeback in the jungle

What makes champions so strong? Looking at the stats, Gwen has been one of the most popular champions all year. It is precisely their invulnerability and their good damage that make them a real monster in 1v1 on the top plane.

Lucian and Wukong, on the other hand, celebrated their ascent mainly around the mid-season invitational, which Team RNG won not without controversy. There was already a buff for Wukong in the previous patch 12.7.

Although the 12.11 patch saw many nerfs and weakened Wukong, it didn’t shake up the meta on the top teams. Currently at the top are the same three champions that were at MSI in May.

A small surprise is only Swain. He was played 19 times and banned 17 times in the Chinese LPL (59% of all matches). In the Spring Split in China (0%) and in the MSI (0%) he didn’t play a role at all. He benefited from the latest updates.

Can I also play these champions in the SoloQ? Yes, although there are restrictions.

  • Wukong is the 5th jungler in all leagues with a win rate of 53.1% in the current patch. If you look at the players with rank platinum or higher, he even comes in 3rd place of all junglers.
  • Lucian has a 50.4% winrate at all ranks (8th place among all ADCs) and even has a 51.2% winrate (6th place) in the Platinum+ category.

Gwen, on the other hand, is the top planer with the worst winrate from the rank of iron (45.3% – 50th place). But it increases by leaps and bounds if you look into Master, Grandmaster and Challenger. Gwen is a super strong champion, but not that easy to play. You should keep that in mind when you go on the top lane with her.

What do you think of the three champions? Do you play them yourself or do you think they’re overrated? Feel free to write it in the comments.

In the European LEC, there was some movement in the team rosters during the off-season. Vitality in particular repositioned itself:

LoL: Team Vitality buys the best players in Europe for millions of euros, fails – now get 2 players from Asia
