Hogwarts Legacy: Clip Shows Realism Of Clothing Physics

from Oliver Jaeger
On Twitter, the community manager from Avalanche Software developer studio, which works on Hogwarts Legacy, shared a short clip from the game showing the physics of a student’s cloak and scarf in motion. The result reveals where the journey with Hogwarts Legacy could go at the end of the year.

Many fans of the franchise around the Wizarding World (also known as Potterheads), which was once brought to life by JK Rowling with the Harry Potter novel series, can hardly wait when the role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy comes out in the fourth quarter of 2022 Avalanche software appears. At a State of Play event in March this year, the developers already showed detailed gameplay material for the title. A few days ago, Avalanche Software’s Community Manager, Chandler Wood, followed up with a seven-second video snippet.

This is how the cape and scarf behave when you move quickly

In the clip, a Hogwarts student in an ankle-length robe can be seen pacing back and forth. Particular attention is paid to the physics of the cape, which makes a particularly realistic impression in accordance with the movements of the wearer. The scarf also behaves realistically, as you would expect when the character changes direction quickly in the clip. The work on the animations in Hogwarts Legacy was not finished with the 14-minute gameplay video in March. Chandler Wood’s clip shows the developers continue to fine-tune the game.

Two more Hogwarts Legacy videos were also released last month. One of them is an ASMR performance in Hogwarts Castle grounds with relaxing rain and nature sounds. The other video appeared on the official Playstation channel, demonstrating special features for Hogwarts Legacy immersion on Playstation 5. The message from Chandler Wood on Twitter that there will be no microtransactions in the upcoming role-playing game from Warner Bros. is certainly pleasing for many players and fans.
