PS Plus is changing completely for you today – all innovations at a glance

The new PS Plus model is out today. Playstation players can choose between three subscriptions for PS5 and PS4. Here you can find all information about the release.

San Mateo, USA – Attention PS Plus gamers: As of June 22, 2022, Sony is changing its Playstation payment model. Playstation Plus is then unified with Playstation Now and includes three different memberships: Playstation Plus Essential, Extra or PS Plus Premium. Depending on how much money you want to spend, you will get more and “better” features. New PS Plus model: The various memberships at a glance

The new PS Plus: The new PS Plus model will include three different memberships. This includes hundreds of games – from classics to new games. Which PS Plus subscription is worth it for you? Depending on how much money you want to spend monthly on your PS4 or PS5 subscription, you will get different and “better” features. The basic model is called Playstation Plus Essential. This gives you access to online multiplayer, one PS5 game per month and two for PS4.

PS Plus: The three memberships in detail – where is what?

This is PS Plus Essentials: Playstation Plus Essentials includes all the features that you already know from PS Plus. With the subscription that has been available since 2010, you can play one PS5 game and two PS4 games per month for free. In May 2022, for example, these were Fifa 22, Curse of the Dead Gods and Tribes of Midgard. In addition, you activate the possibility of using online multiplayer with PS Plus Essentials. Every month there are also discounts that you get through Essentials.

This is PS Plus Extra: In the second Playstation Plus subscription, PS Plus Extra, there is a large selection of playable games in addition to all essential features. Over 400 games can be selected and played from the library. One of the top games is probably God of War, which was released for the PS4 in 2018. Action fans can also look forward to Spider-Man from 2018. Those who prefer to fight will be happy in Mortal Kombat 11. Or would you prefer a puzzle game with friends? Overcooked! 2 promises fun – and all of this free of charge once you have taken out a subscription.

This is PS Plus Premium: In Playstation Plus Premium you get even more features. Among other things, you can play PS3 games via cloud streaming. PS1, PS2 and PSP games can also be played and even downloaded. Over 700 Playstation games are available with PS Plus Premium. You want to test a game before everyone else? New PS Plus: Playstation Plus launch and price – what happens to existing subscriptions?

When does it start? The new PS Plus models will be launched on June 22, 2022. The conversion should then be completed on June 23rd. The new Playstation Plus has been available on the Asian market since the end of May and in Japan since June 1st. The system was introduced in America on June 13, with Europe, Australia and New Zealand being the last to follow. In Europe, prices are slightly higher than in other parts of the world.

How much do the new subscriptions cost? The cheapest model, PS Plus Essential, will contain the same features as the previous PS Plus. The standard subscription costs EUR 8.99 per month, and there is an annual subscription for EUR 59.99. Playstation Plus Extra will cost five euros more per month – you can get the model for 13.99 euros. If you sign up for an annual membership directly, you pay EUR 99.99. Probably the most popular model, PS Plus Premium, will cost 16.99 euros a month including the classic games. You can get the annual subscription for around 119.99 euros.

What happens to my existing subscription? Anyone who previously had a PS Plus subscription does not need to do anything to release the new model. The existing subscription is automatically converted to PS Plus Essential and contains the same features. The transition may take until June 23rd, so don’t despair if you don’t see a change by June 22nd. If you have a longer PS Now subscription, you can continue to use it after the switch – now under the name PS Plus Premium.

PS Plus Premium: These games are included in the most expensive paid subscription

These games are free: PS Plus subscribers have had three games for free since June 7th. God of War, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl are free to play until the end of the month at least. With Playstation Plus Premium you also get the opportunity to play 700 games at once. The top games from PS Plus Premium are quite impressive. Of course, God of War is at the top of the list for many players. But Read Dead Redemption 2 still lures many players in front of the screen.

Other games than in the USA possible: The games Celeste, Demon’s Soul, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Bloodborne also received the best Opencritic Scores for free PS Plus Premium Games.
