The built-in Geforce RTX 3060 offers solid gaming performance – you can play older games like “Doom Eternal” and “F1 2021” absolutely smoothly with maximum details. The Legion 5i Pro also shines with the world’s first 16-inch WQXGA display. The resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels together with the frame rate of 165 Hertz contributes to a razor-sharp and at the same time smooth gaming experience.

The chic Erazer Beast X30 from Medion with a 165 Hertz display is available in two versions. The smaller variant has a Core i7 processor with a base clock of 2.3 gigahertz and 4.7 gigahertz in turbo mode. In combination with the built-in 32 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM, the processor enables both efficient work and smooth gaming. The built-in Geforce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card makes the laptop a powerful device with which you can play most games smoothly. Thanks to the 1 terabyte SSD, you have enough space for your games.
You get a high-end device with the stronger version of the gaming laptop. Medion has equipped the model with an Intel Core i9-12900HK. The 14 cores of the processor work with office applications and simple games with a basic clock of 2.5 gigahertz – so multitasking is no problem. The CPU then shows its strength in more demanding titles: 5 gigahertz in the turbo clock is an immense amount of power with 14 cores. Combined with a Geforce RTX 3080 and 64 gigabytes of RAM, you can easily play almost all games with maximum details, even in high resolutions. The 2 terabyte memory on the two SSDs offers you a lot of space for all your games and data.
Gamers want powerful graphics cards
Gamers know: To gamble, you absolutely need a good graphics card that ensures smooth display of your favorite games. In order for the card to reach its full potential, it needs the support of a strong processor.
What does the processor bring to gaming?
The processor or CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the heart of a computer. The calculations that all programs need to work run through it – this also applies to games.
A strong processor is important for games in which a lot of calculations run in the background. Good examples are strategy games like Total War: Warhammer 2. There the CPU calculates the movements of all units during real-time battles. Since there are hundreds of soldiers at the same time, you need a lot of computing power.
In turn-based strategy games, a powerful CPU also improves your gaming experience. You can see that in the classic “Civilization 6”: At the end of your turn, the processor calculates the moves of your AI opponents – you have to wait until it’s finished. With a strong processor, the waiting times between your trains are reduced.
Also powerful and fast in laptops: processors from Intel.

The importance of the CPU for your gaming laptop increases when you game at low resolutions. In Full HD, for example, you gain more performance with a powerful processor than in WQHD or in 4k. With these resolutions, a powerful graphics card is more important for a smooth gaming experience.
When gaming, it is extremely important that the computing power of the graphics card and processor are not too different. For example, if your PC has a strong graphics card and a weak CPU, there will be an imbalance – a “bottleneck”. The low performance of the CPU blocks the high performance of the graphics unit. A good processor in combination with a strong graphics card is therefore a must for every passionate gamer.
How many cores do I need to gamble?
Games now use the cores of the processors much better than before. The more cores a processor has, the smoother and more comfortable your gaming experience will be, provided you have a good graphics card. This is exactly where Intel comes into play: With the processor series Core i5, i7 and i9, Intel covers the entire performance spectrum from the entry-level CPU to the high-end chip.
Six processor cores are currently sufficient. The CPUs of the Intel Core i5 series are equipped with up to six cores and achieve clock frequencies of up to 4.9 gigahertz. If you want to be optimally equipped for upcoming games, it is better to rely on eight cores. The Core i7 processors are ideal here, they have up to eight cores and clock at up to 5 gigahertz. The i9 CPUs with up to 16 cores and a maximum clock frequency of 5.5 gigahertz represent the absolute upper class.
