Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will probably also have a third major mode, but it may not appear until 2023 and will be free.

Call of Duty is launching a big offensive: Modern Warfare 2 is coming soon, and then probably Warzone 2 at some point. But that’s not all. Current rumors assume that the so-called DMZ mode will appear individually and will be playable for free. This is a PvEvP offshoot that is said to be like Hunt: Showdown or the enormously popular on PC Escape from Tarkov should work. But it looks like we’ll have to wait until 2023 for that.

Call of Duty’s Tarkov mode may be available standalone, free and in 2023

New rumours: CoD Modern Warfare 2 is due out this fall and will have different multiplayer modes as usual. There have been many rumors about one of them for quite some time. This special mode could be called DMZ and work in a similar way to what is currently probably the most successful shooter on the PC, Escape from Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown. Their special feature is the mix of PvP and PvE with an extra dose of risk.

When is the new mode coming? We still don’t know. But insider RalphsValve is now reporting that the mystery mode has been in development for four years and has undergone multiple revisions. If all goes well and Modern Warfare and Warzone 2 are well received, this mode could appear sometime in 2023, maybe even Q1. The highlight: DMZ would then be playable individually and free of charge.

Open World Mode: So far it has been assumed that this mode is called DMZ. What is special about it is the allegedly sophisticated storyline and open world. Both are said to be more or less directly related to the events of Modern Warfare 2’s single-player campaign and contain both PvE and PvP elements. According to the report of What If gaming this DMZ mode could then start as a beta. An announcement is said to be made in August.

More information about Modern Warfare 2 Is there … here:

Warzone 2.0 is currently officially in development, but has no official release date yet. So far it has only been revealed that it will be launched after the release of Modern Warfare 2. Completely new content is planned and there should be no way to transfer the unlocked skins, camos and so on from the first Warzone.

What are you most looking forward to, if that’s true: Warzone 2, Modern Warfare 2, or that Tarkov mode?
