Xiaomi POCO F4: POCO’s cheap beast is renewed to remain a best seller
POCO brought to Spain the F4 GT, a high-end gaming with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The true renewal of the popular POCO F3, the POCO F4, was pending. The company has been quite conservative this generation, and it is that we are facing an F4 practically identical to its predecessor, although with some improvements. Pure and hard continuity
With the POCO X4 GT, the Xiaomi sub-brand has opted for the best MediaTek processor, a Dimension 8100 that rivals the best of Qualcomm. However, for the POCO F4 (terminal of a range, in principle, higher), They have opted for the same processor as last year, the Snapdragon 870.
It is not bad news, since the 870 is a processor with only a year and a half of life, energy efficient and quite powerful (although it is still a review of the old Snapdragon 865+). However, a Dimensity 8100 would have put it in the line of much more expensive phones in terms of power.
The memories are identical to those of last year, with a base of 6 + 128 GB and the possibility of 8 256 GB, LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1, respectively. The battery is the same as last year, with 4,500mAh. Improve fast charging, which now goes up to 67Wcharger included inside the box.
The first POCO with OIS
On a photographic level, this POCO has a 64-megapixel sensor, although it seems to repeat with last year’s f/1.79 lens. POCO presumes that it is the first POCO with OISsomething that will help make photos sharper and minimize the judder that occurs when no stabilizer is present.
The second sensor is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and, finally, we have a two-megapixel macro testimonial. An important step backwardssince the POCO F3 had a 5 megapixel telemacro that worked quite well.
The other specifications are nailed to the POCO F4. Side fingerprint reader, steam chamber, stereo sound, 6.67-inch screen with Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz (AMOLED) and MIUI 13 under the hood.
Versions and price of the POCO F4
The POCO F4 is once again an economical alternative. It arrives in Spain from 399 euros in its base version. However, there will be introductory offer until July 1.
