Stardew Valley Patch 1.6 and what the future holds

The next update for Stardew Valley is on the way. But before you go dancing in your field, you should know that this is an “update primarily focused on modding,” as creator Eric Barone himself explains.

A small update and two answers

While there will be some new content, fans shouldn’t set their expectations too high because the patch won’t be big.

Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone was responding to a Twitter user’s questions regarding the future of Stardew Valley and how it relates to Barone’s upcoming title Haunted Chocolatier.

More Stardew Valley news:

When asked if Stardew Valley will continue to receive updates after patches 1.6 and 1.7, Barone said, “1.6, yes. But it’s mostly a modding-focused update (making life easier for modders). It there will be some new content but it won’t be big. 1.7? Who knows.”

The user also asked if Haunted Chocolatier would include references to Stardew Valley. Here ConcernedApe said, “Yes, but I haven’t decided yet exactly how deep the connection will be. I want Haunted Chocolatier to have its own identity.”
