Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things is coming back, “Vecna” as the new killer
Dead by Daylight wants the Stranger Things license back. This can bring the new killer “Vecna” who kills in the current season.
Dead by Daylight fans are used to fresh content coming into the game every few months. In addition to cool creations of their own, developers often sign contracts with well-known franchises such as Halloween or A Nightmare on Elm Street to bring killers like Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger into play.
A somewhat inglorious example here was Stranger Things, which brought the Demogorgon and had to leave the game again after a few years. Now the Demogorgon could be returning – and even bringing back a killer from the latest season of the horror mystery series on Netflix.
What happened back then? Dead by Daylight has had a collaboration with Netflix and the series Stranger Things in the past. At that time there was the Demogorgon as a killer, as well as Steve and Nance as characters and also the “Hawkins Lab” as a separate map. Now what is this leak? Of the DbDLeaks Twitter account however, revealed that Netflix has reportedly approached Behavior Interactive to propose a new collaboration.
That would mean that the “old” Stranger Things chapter might be back in the game as early as Christmas 2022. The Demogorgon and also Nancie Wheeler and Steve Harrington could then return as characters and once again make the world of the Entity unsafe.
At the same time, the leak says that a new character called “Vecna” will come into play – that would be a new killer.
Who is Vecna? Vecna is the antagonist of the current fourth season of Stranger Things on Netflix. The series will be released in two parts and the finale is pending release – the last two episodes with the feature-length finale will be released on July 1, 2022.
Vecna kills in the most brutal manner in the series, entering the victim’s mind and ramming his claws into the target’s head. To beings outside of the mind, this murder looks even more grisly: the victim slowly lifts off the ground before breaking bones at every possible angle and opening eyes.
Dungeons & Dragons fans might have known Vecna for a long time, because he is a sinister adversary and a terrible lich in Pen&Paper as well. In the Netflix series, however, he looks even more sinister.
Season 4 of Stranger Things is definitely not for the faint of heart, which makes Vecna the perfect candidate for a new killer in Dead by Daylight.
Is the leak trustworthy? Basically yes. The Twitter account DbDLeaks has repeatedly made correct predictions and accurately predicted killers or other collaborations in recent years. There were also misjudgments and “wrong” leaks, but these almost always concerned small things, such as the exact start time of a special in-game event. When it comes to the big leaks, DbDleaks has built a solid reputation for being reliable.
However, one should keep in mind that the leak only speaks of negotiations and nothing is set in stone. However, considering how popular Stranger Things is with Season 4 and how Dead by Daylight has evolved over the past few years, it seems quite likely that a re-collaboration will materialize.
