Since the release of Diablo Immortal, the Pay2Win allegations against Blizzard’s mobile game have not ended. The problem is only made clear when streamers spend thousands of dollars to get those coveted 5-star gems. You can now also simulate your chances – for free!
Almost a month after the release, it is no longer a secret that Diablo Immortal wants to encourage you either to play a lot (!) or to spend money. Finally, the drop rates in dungeons and elder portals are frustratingly low for many players. You can help your luck with emblems, the legendary version of which is almost exclusively available in the shop. But even with these expensive boosters, some items feel unattainable. That had last Streamer Quin69 demonstrates when he had to spend over €15,000 to drop the item pool’s White Whale: a Rank 5 gem. A player has created an online simulator that lets you try out for free how the loot box-like elder portals could work for you.
Thousands of dollars or “just” hundreds? Try your luck
On the Diablo Immortal subreddit User buzzycat presented his creation: A simple website where you can manually “waste $25” to see what a full set of ten Legendary Emblems could get you. Alternatively, you can let the virtual machine roll out results again and again indefinitely and calculate what a 5-star gem could cost you. We tried it and were even successful quite quickly: “only” 750 dollars to the first drop! A real bargain compared to Quin69’s 15,000 euros…
