In Diablo Immortal it costs over half a million euros if you want the strongest character

The discussions about Diablo immortal, the game’s financing model and the Pay2Win mechanics just don’t stop. In a post on Reddit, a player shared the knowledge that a character with the best possible equipment is significantly more expensive than previously thought.

How expensive is a perfect character? According to Reddit user u/ShiftYourCarcass, if you want a character in Diablo Immortal who maxes out their loadout and is as well-equipped as the game allows, you’ll need to shell out over $540,000 (over €511,000). (via reddit).

It was previously thought that reaching a maxed character in Diablo Immortal would cost around $100,000.

More legendary gems needed than expected

What’s so expensive about the equipment? In order to upgrade your gear in Diablo Immortal, you need to put Legendary gems into your gear, as we illustrated in our High Single Damage Demon Hunter build.

For the best possible character, it is important not to use just any legendary gem, only 5/5 star legendary gems. How rare these are was shown by Twitch streamer Quin69 when he invested €15,000 to get his first 5/5 Star Gem in Diablo Immortal.

How did the high sum come about? Reddit user u/ShiftYourCarcass mentions in his post that the previous assumption was that you needed 6 legendary 5/5 star gems for a maxed character. But in the meantime, players have discovered the so-called awakening mechanic, which makes it possible to awaken their equipment.

Awakened Gear not only has a Legendary Gem slot, but a whopping 6 Gem slots. This means that a character needs not just 6, but 36 5/5 Star Legendary Gems to be as well equipped as it gets.

In its calculation, Reddit user u/ShiftYourCarcass assumed an average investment of 15,000 US dollars (approx. 14,200 euros) per 5/5-star gemstone. By the way, that’s still a lower amount than Quin69 needed for a single gem.

So if you pay $14,200 36 times to get 5/5 Star Legendary Gems in Diablo Immortal, you’re up to a total of $511,200 to invest in the game to own a maxed out character.
