PS Plus Leak shows all 3 games for PS4/PS5 in July - Sounds too good to be true

The lineup for the “PlayStation Plus” games in July will not be officially revealed until Wednesday, but now a leak from the well-known site dealabs has surfaced. It shows three games for PS4 and PS5 that are really strong.

Which games are in PS Plus according to the leak? For July you can expect:

  • Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS4, PS5)
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan (PS4)
  • Arcadegeddon (PS4, PS5)

How reliable is the leak? Dealabs regularly leaks upcoming games for PS Plus and was right almost every time. For June, the site was also able to correctly predict all titles two days in advance. So the chances of this strong lineup are high, although there is no guarantee that it will happen.

By the way, since June 23, the PS Plus model has changed. All information about it:

New Crash Badicoot gets good reviews on Metacritic

What makes the lineup so good? With Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, PS Plus is headlining a really strong game. On Metacritic, the platformer gets an 85 on the PS4 (with 95 reviews from critics) and even an 86 on the PS5 (with 21 reviews). Our colleagues from GamePro also gave a strong 87 in the rating (via GamePro).

There is praise for the new art style, the strong level design, the fair checkpoints and the high replay value of the individual levels. Only some jump passages are frustrating and the loading times are a bit long. Despite this, the game is a nice throwback to old Crash Badicoot games.

A horror game and a new multiplayer shooter should be free

What other games are there? The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is a game from the developers of Until Dawn. In this horror game you accompany a chaotic group of heroes of young people who actually just wanted to dive in a relaxed manner. But they are overwhelmed by a group of fishermen and have to explore an old WWII cargo ship.

The game is great fun for fans of scary moments and quick-time events in which you have to complete tasks in a rush and panic. However, the characters lack depth.

Nevertheless, our colleagues from GameStar give the game a rating of 77 (via GameStar). Here is the relevant test video:

The third game in the leak is Arcadegeddon, and it’s also set to come to PS4 and PS5. This new multiplayer shooter is slated for release on July 5th, the release day of July’s PS Plus games.

  • In PvE you fight in a horde mode, with constantly new waves of enemies
  • In PvP you fight in teams of four against other players

What do you say about the lineup? Do you trust the leak? And do you think it’s that strong? What other game would you have wished for in July?

Since June 23rd there is a new model at PS Plus. Our author Maik Schneider has looked at it and is satisfied, because one fear has not been confirmed:

My biggest fear of moving to the new PS Plus hasn’t materialized – thanks PlayStation
