This year we can finally experience gamescom on site again. Presentations, play stations, events and much more awaits us in Cologne. There are numerous developers and publishers, although it is already clear that some of the really big ones will be missing.

But don’t worry, the halls will be well filled, including with Ubisoft, as the company officially confirmed in a press release today. So we don’t have to do without big titles like Assassin’s Creed, Anno and Rainbow Six.

With the cancellations of Activision Blizzard, Nintendo, Sony, Rockstar Games and 2K, things are looking rather lean on the front of the prominent developers and publishers. First-party titles by those absent will therefore not be on display at the fair.

The commitment from Ubisoft, which is currently working on a concept to meet the conditions and security precautions of gamescom 2022 in terms of content and organization, is all the more gratifying. The direct exchange with the community should be able to take place again, as Ralf Wirsing, Ubisoft’s Managing Director Europe, announced in the confirmation:

For Ubisoft, being close to the community and sharing ideas with our fans has always been a matter close to our hearts. gamescom is the epitome of discovering and experiencing new games together and we are therefore already looking forward to diving into our game worlds together with the fans again this year.

Which games does Ubisoft have in its luggage?

Exactly what news we can expect from Ubisoft at the fair was not announced in the announcement. Chances are we’ll see something related to Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora though. The second film is slated to hit theaters this December, and Ubisoft certainly won’t miss the opportunity to release the game in the near future. New information is therefore appropriate.

Assassin’s Creed could be among the usual suspects. However, since an anniversary stream was only recently announced for September, we shouldn’t necessarily expect big news about the franchise.

Aside from the prominent names, there will be around 250 other exhibitors who have a lot to offer you. So far Aerosoft, Assemble Entertainment, Bandai Namco, Kalypso Media, Koch Media and THQ Nordic have officially participated. In addition, numerous play stations with small and carefully selected indie titles are waiting for you in the Indie Arena Booth.
