gamescom is coming back to Cologne from August 24th to 28th! This means that you can finally stroll through the halls of koelnmesse yourself, play games, take part in events and meet like-minded people.

Does that sound like the good old days before Corona? Not quite, because some of the big developers and publishers are not there this year and have already canceled. The reasons for this can be as varied as they are varied, but one or the other has probably also taken a liking to their own online showcases, which have been increasingly used by the pandemic and are a cheaper and more focused alternative compared to gamescom.

But don’t worry, the exhibition halls will still be full. Over 250 exhibitors, including developers, publishers and other companies, will offer you all kinds of games and programs. We summarize for you here who exactly is there and who has canceled. (via gameseconomy)

A notice: The games in brackets are for orientation only. There is no guarantee that these will also be shown or played at gamescom 2022.

Unfortunately, these exhibitors have canceled

There won’t be any first-party games from the developers and publishers who aren’t there this year. However, third-party games are still possible.

So far, there have been official cancellations from:

  • 2K (NBA 2K, WWE 2K)
  • Activision Blizzard (CoD Modern Warfare 2, Diablo 4)
  • alternates (e-commerce company with online shop)
  • Meta (Facebook, Oculus Quest)
  • Nintendo (Zelda BotW2, Splatoon 3)
  • Private Division (Rollerdrome, Olli Olli World)
  • Rockstar Games (GTA, Red Dead Redemption)
  • Sony (God of War Ragnarok, PSVR 2)
  • wargaming (World of Tanks)

Of course, that was only a small part of the more than 250 exhibitors. Further confirmations and denials are pending. So check this overview regularly to be always up to date and to find out whether you can count on your favorite games.
