Lost Ark brings the big June update this week - that's in it

The big June update for Lost Ark is coming on June 30th, this week after two postponements. We at MeinMMO tell you what you can look forward to from Thursday and what exactly you can expect in the new patch.

What’s in store for you with the update? We can’t tell you that completely for sure and above all completely at the moment. As usual, the patch notes will come one day before the actual update, i.e. on June 29th. Nevertheless, there is already a rough overview of features that you can expect with the June patch.

In addition to new content for the endgame, there are also new events and some “Quality of Life” features that make life easier for you in Arkesia. A new class will only come in July, because that’s where the Arcana should play its cards. The originally announced Yozs Krug does not come into play either, which makes the community happy.

The new features in brief:

  • The new Legion Raid Vykas comes into play
  • The Super Express Event will be extended by 20 days to launch a new one
  • A completely new, still unknown event
  • A buff to the honing that makes it easier for you to get characters to 1415
  • The new Guardian Raid Kungelanium
  • The Tier 3 Tower Thronespire
  • New skins

By the way, Korea is already getting a completely new class in July. See the Aeromancer in our video:

New challenges for endgame players

What is Vykas? In May, Valtan, the first Legion Raid, came into play. Vykas is also such a raid for 8 players, which should be particularly difficult. As the developer Smilegate says, they are the highlight of Lost Ark and offer exciting mechanics and a decent house challenge.

But so that you can split them up, you have several checkpoints for the demanding and long fight against the commander Vykas. Once you have reached this, you can leave the raid at any time and come back later with another group, or just take a break. These checkpoints reset with the normal weekly reset.

Vykas comes into play on June 30 in her Normal and Hard modes. To challenge them, you need a Gearscore of 1,430 or 1,460 for Hardmode. Relic rarity equipment and other well-known rewards beckon as rewards.

What is Kugelanium? The ice beast Kungelanium is the new Guardian Raid coming to Arkesia with the June update. He joins the 6th level Guardians and promises the usual rewards that you know from Guardian Raids.

Unlike Legion Raids, you only fight a maximum of 4 here. If you are looking for a special challenge, you can also challenge Kungelanium with fewer players or even alone.

The new Guardian Raid requires a Gearscore of 1,460 from you before you can face the nasty turtles.

You already know the Fire Turtle, but now Kungelanium is coming to Arkesia

New content for single player: But even if 4 or 8 players are too much for you, new challenges await players in the endgame. After the two towers Shadowspire and Fatespire, the third tower comes into the game in the June update: Thronespire.

Similar to what you are used to, you fight your way through different floors in the tower alone and receive special loot for each completed level. But it’s a little different this time, because although there are again a total of 50 floors, the last 25 behave fundamentally differently than you currently know.

You can imagine the last 25 floors of Thronespire as a kind of leaderboard. The aim here is to rush through the levels several times and to be as fast as possible in order to climb up the ladder. To enter Thronespire, you need a Gearscore of 1,325.

There is also a lot to get for people with a small Gearscore

Super Express Event Extended: Although there is no direct new content for players who do not yet have a high Gearscore, it is again made easier for them to achieve it. The Super Express Event, which was originally only supposed to last until June 30th, contributes a lot to this.

This event has now been extended by 20 days, until July 20th. The event lets you choose one of your characters and then you get tons of rewards for what you’re already doing. In addition, upgrading your equipment is simplified and cheaper than without the event.

However, in order to receive these rewards, you must have selected a character to start the event by June 30 at the latest. That will no longer be possible in July. However, the developers indicated that a new Super Express event is in the starting blocks. It is currently unclear when this will start.

Even more events: Nobody knows exactly what the new event will look like at the moment. So far, however, all of the special events in Lost Ark have contributed to making it easier for you to increase your Gearscore. So we can confidently assume that this month’s event will again ensure that you make some jumps in the item level.

The sweet event with the big chicken will certainly not be extended. This finally came to an end last week and will not return any time soon.

The Honey Buff is coming: For players who already have a character in the higher gearscore range, the mechanic of this buff is not new. The principle is relatively simple: If you have a character on a certain Gearscore, you can research a buff in your fortress. This then ensures that the chance for all other characters on the account to improve up to a certain Gearscore increases.

So far, this buff ended relatively early in Tier 3, but that is about to change. If you have already reached item level 1,460, you can research the new honing buff and use it to push characters up to 1,415 more easily. That’s equivalent to a full set of legendary gear at +15.

So that makes life easier, especially for people who play a lot of characters.

New skins and more gifts

New skins despite removing the jug: Originally announced for the June update was Yoz’s pitcher. With this one you could have pulled new skins with a kind of gambling mechanic.

Since this mug is now no longer appearing in the June update after strong criticism from the community, the new skins are now available for purchase, even if they are not exactly the same. With this, Lost Ark sticks to bringing new costumes in each monthly patch.

There are also free skins that you can choose when you log in. These are the cute Mokoko skin sets, one of which you can have for free. In doing so, they join the gifts that are available thanks to the postponement.

Gifts due to postponement: Aside from the skins, there are more items gifted to you that also take a more practical approach. It is primarily about upgrade materials that you can choose for the tier you are in. You will therefore get, completely free of charge:

  • 5 Crates of Weapon Upgrade Materials, choice of 1,000 from Tier 1 or 2, or 200 from Tier 3
  • 12 crates of armor upgrade materials, choice of 1,000 from Tier 1 or 2, or 200 from Tier 3
  • 10 bags of shards that you need for upgrading. These contain 3 sacks each in tier 1 and 2, or one in tier 3.

What do you think of the June update? Are you looking forward to what’s to come or would you have preferred something else? Write it to us in the comments here on MeinMMO.
