Pokémon GO: Spotlight Hour Today with Pikachu and Stardust Bonus

Spotlight Hour is running today in Pokémon GO with an event Pikachu and a special Stardust bonus. We at MeinMMO will show you what kind of Pikachu it is and when the short event will start.

What is the spotlight hour? Spotlight Hour is held every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. This special short event focuses on a specific Pokémon, which can then be found almost everywhere in the wild during this time.

This week, the Electric-type Pokémon Pikachu is in the spotlight. Unlike usual, today he’s dressed up and wearing a themed cap for the trading card game crossover event. The event is enhanced by a stardust bonus.

Spotlight Hour with Pikachu – Launch, Bonuses and Shiny

When does it start? Spotlight Hour is today, June 28, 2022, starting at 6:00 p.m. local time as usual. At 7:00 p.m. the event is over and the Pikachu spawns disappear again.

What bonuses should there be? During Spotlight Hour, event-capped wild Pikachu will spawn almost everywhere in the game. If you want to catch more of them, you can also put on a smoke. In addition, you get double stardust for catching the Pokémon.

Does Shiny Pikachu exist? Yes, with a bit of luck you can also encounter a dazzling specimen. You can recognize it by the slightly darker shade of yellow on its body.

Is Spotlight Hour Worth It With Pikachu?

Is it that strong? Pikachu is a first-generation Electric Pokémon that can evolve into Raichu. However, the little mouse is not particularly strong and Raichu does not play a role in the GO Battle League, nor is it one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.

However, since the Pikachu is a special event Pikachu today, it cannot evolve into Raichu anyway.

For whom is the event worthwhile? The event is worthwhile primarily because of the bonus. If you want to improve your stardust supply, today is the perfect opportunity to do so. If you also place a piece of a star, you will receive 50% more stardust for 30 minutes.

Otherwise, Shiny hunters in particular will get their money’s worth at this event. Since Pikachu is only available in this cap during the current event and it is not yet known if and when the monster will next be in this disguised form, it is worth keeping an eye out for a dazzling specimen.

If you can’t do anything with the electric Pokémon today, but want to use the stardust bonus, you can alternatively ignite the wonder box. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Meltan.
