Return To Monkey Island: Gameplay trailer with synchro and screenshots with new art design
During the Nintendo Direct, Devolver Digital and Terrible Toybox released a gameplay trailer and screenshots featuring the new art design for Return To Monkey Island.
Devolver Digital and Terrible Toybox used the Nintendo Direct to share news about Return To Monkey Island. There are screenshots and a gameplay trailer to get acquainted with the design chosen by Ron Gilbert and his colleagues. In particular, opinions will probably differ when it comes to the art design of the adventure. There is no “fallback mode” to pixel graphics like in the special editions. However, Gilbert already made it clear with Thimbleweed Park that adventures are economically on thin stilts and if Monkey Island is to continue, “Part 3” has to be successful and also appeal to a younger audience. Devolver Digital writes about the new material:
Return to Monkey Island: This is the status of the German translation
“The bewildering tale of Monkey Island’s famous mystery leads Guybrush Threepwood – fearless hero, leather jacket salesman, mighty pirate – on an exciting new adventure. He is determined to finally unravel the ill-defined mystery for good.
Scumm bar in time comparison
Return to Monkey Island is the long-awaited sequel to the Monkey Island games, penned by original series creators Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman. Become part of the hilarious adventures of Guybrush, brought to life by stunning new visuals by Rex Crowle (Knights & Bikes, Tearaway) and some of the original voiceovers from previous installments in the series. Return to Monkey Island includes new, intuitive controls, accessibility features, and even a good joke or two. Return to Monkey Island is coming to PC & Nintendo Switch in 2022.”
