Almost a week after the start of Warzone Season 4, fans got their first impression of Fortune’s Keep. The new map seems to pass with flying colours.

Santa Monica, California – The first week of Season 4 in Warzone has come to an end, and a picture is beginning to emerge of how Activision’s battle royale will play out for the foreseeable future. When the new season was released, the focus of the fans was above all the new small map that came into play. It looks like the developers have hit the bull’s eye, because Fortune’s Keep is going down really well with the community and is already more popular with many than Rebirth Island.

Warzone: Fortune’s Keep delights fans in week one of Season 4

When did Fortune’s Keep come out? It’s been almost a week since Season 4 of Warzone started with all its new features, weapons and the new map Fortune’s Keep. There are some expectations on the new map, after all, Caldera is not exactly popular with the fans, so that after the removal of Verdansk, Rebirth Island served as the community’s standard map for some players. Gradually, a little variety had to be found, which Forunte’s Keep is supposed to bring now.

A lot has happened in that time, so the Warzone meta has been completely turned upside down in Season 4, including the new UGM-8. In the meantime, fans of the game have had a few days to play around with Fortune’s Keep and form their own opinions – and so far it’s been surprisingly positive.

What do fans think of the map? Numerous fans have been exchanging views on Fortune’s Keep on social media for a few days and, for once, are surprisingly kind to Warzone. Normally, Call of Duty Battle Royale players are very critical of maps and are particularly harsh on Caldera. In fact, Fortune’s Keep receives great compliments from the community and is currently becoming the favorite map of numerous players. In a thread in Warzone Reddit it says in several places that the new map would have completely rekindled the love of many players for Warzone.

It’s completely reinvigorated my (and my squad’s) love of Warzone again. I would like a more diverse meta to play with on the map than basically just NZ/Blixen/Marco but even with this lame meta the map is just a blast. I’m going to be sad when this gets taken away and stale old Rebirth comes back.

Even big Warzone streamers like TimTheTatMan, JGOD and DrDisrespect have played the map extensively and are visibly impressed. A big factor behind Fortune’s Keep’s popularity seems to be the variation the map offers for different gameplay. Precisely because Fortune’s Keep is very small and compact, there are many opportunities and routes to assert yourself against others. Only the campers are a problem in the eyes of many.

Warzone: Not everyone is thrilled – but Fortune’s Keep could become a new favorite

Is Fortune’s Keep the best Warzone map? It is currently difficult to estimate whether Fortune’s Keep will outperform all other Warzone maps in the long run. In any case, the new map is already more popular with many than Rebirth Island or Caldera, although the latter has received some exciting map changes in Season 4 of Warzone. However, given that Fortune’s Keep is so fresh, time will tell if it has the longevity of a Verdansk.

Also, not all players are full of praise. Some say Fortune’s Keep is too hectic and chaotic, caught in the crossfire between two other teams too often. For the moment, however, the map is a refreshing change from the usual Caldera Rebirth routine that many players like to throw themselves into.
