Dragon Quest Treasures: Switch Spin-Off has a release date

The release date for Dragon Quest Treasures (from 59.99€ at pre-order) one thing is certain: the spin-off of the series will finally be coming to the Nintendo Switch in December. This was revealed to us at the recent Nintendo Direct.

Dragon Quest Treasures: First information about the spin-off story known

Square Enix dropped the covers as part of Nintendo’s Partner Showcase and, in addition to the release date, also gave more specific information about the content of the game. So in Dragon Quest Treasures, which is loosely set before the events of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, we follow the story of the two siblings Erik and Mia.

The notorious thief with the pacific blue spiked hair and his sister embark on an adventure around Draconia to find treasure, befriend monsters and thus always expand their home base. You can recruit the monsters into your own ranks so that they can come to your aid in battle and use a variety of abilities against enemy creatures.

Gameplay trailer shows setting, combat system and more

We get a better idea of ​​how the combat system is laid out in the gameplay trailer shown at the Nintendo Direct Mini presentation. The optics are also refreshingly varied, although the elements typical of Dragon Quest are immediately recognizable.

As early as 2018, as part of the 20th anniversary, Square Enix let it be known that a new Dragon Quest Monsters game would be in development. A good four years later, Dragon Quest Treasures is here and the franchise, which has existed since 1986, can look forward to its latest offshoot.
