Destiny 2: Solstice Event 2022 – First leaks show weapons, skins and armor ornaments
On July 19, 2022, Destiny 2 will start the Summer Solstice Event. In addition to the popular, glowing armor ornaments that Guardians can earn there every year, a few things will also change this time. What is the Solstice Event? Each summer, it is customary in Destiny 2 to celebrate the time-limited “Solstice Event” in the European Air Zone. The organization of the event and the distribution of tasks to the guardians is traditionally done by space granny Eva Levante.
Guardians will then not only find the tower specially decorated after logging in, but also get summery items to play for. Every year, the luminous ornaments of the solstice armor are in great demand here, as are the very special cosmetics that wash up on the shiny dust beach of Eververse.
In addition to these well-known details, the developer has also made small adjustments to the event, which will bring a few innovations in 2022.
This will change in 2022 at Solstice Event: In addition to the fact that the Solstice will now have to do without heroes and will only be called “Solstice”, Bungie has also planned the following changes:
- At the start of Solstice 2022, Destiny 2 will officially introduce the new “Event Map”, which will accurately track your progress for all future events.
- An event seal and title will also come into play, which players can earn during the Solstice event and beyond.
- There will no longer be Solstice armor quests to complete. Instead, players now collect keys or packages in so-called event challenges.
- Solstice armor will be upgradeable, allowing Wardens to reshuffle their stats.
- In addition, there will be a new activity in the already well-known European Air Zone: the “Campfire Party”. Here the guardians are supposed to set up a kind of “paracausal campfire” and it almost sounds as if there might even be a horde mode with increasingly difficult waves.
Event card valid for all annual events
When the 2022 solstice has started, all players will be able to pick up the new event card from Eva Levante for the first time. The tasks that it offers should be similar to the seasonal challenges.
