Nintendo is grateful for your sequel wishes, but cannot fulfill all of them

We all have our own desires when it comes to Nintendo game sequels.

Nintendo is also grateful for these wishes and love for the respective games. At the same time, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa emphasizes that you simply cannot fulfill all of them.

You should be realistic

During the annual shareholder meeting, Furukawa was asked by a shareholder if the company was considering developing remakes or new installments of previous games, such as F-Zero or Wario Land.

“Realistically, it’s difficult to create new titles and remakes, including sequels, for every Nintendo game people want, but we’re very grateful and appreciate our fans’ expectations of our games,” Furukawa replied (via VGC).

More on the subject:

“We’re always thinking about how to create new titles and remakes that many players can enjoy,” added Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer.

“During the 79th AGM 2019 we were asked if there were any plans for a remake of the Famicom Detective Club series and at that point we happened to be planning a remake. This is an example of where we are already actively working on such a title worked.”

“We can’t say if there are any plans for future remakes of a particular game, but during development we’re always thinking of different ways to entertain players.”

Recently there were new rumors about a remaster of Metroid Prime. It is said to be released for the Nintendo Switch later this year, to coincide with the 20th anniversary.
