Overwatch 2 heralds the end of its predecessor in October

When Overwatch 2 comes out in October, it will completely replace the first part, Blizzard says. All content released up to that point should then be transferred to the second part.

In a statement to Axios’ Stephen Totilo, Blizzard said Overwatch 2 will replace the old installment. The support for Overwatch, which already hardly exists, will be discontinued in October and is no longer accessible to buyers of the game, which is currently still subject to a fee.

As long as the buyers are at least rewarded with an exclusive gift, the excitement about the blocked access should not be too big. At least I feel that way. Former Overwatch players are much more likely to be bothered by the meta changes.

In a Reddit Q&A last week, Blizzard went into more details about the Overwatch 2 launch. Here we learned that loot boxes and coins will be automatically transferred from Overwatch to the second part of the hero shooter.
