There will be a beta for Modern Warfare 2 in August. Amazon is now giving the first indications of the launch date.

Santa Monica, California – Modern Warfare 2, the upcoming 2022 main title of the popular shooter series “Call of Duty”, will hold an open beta test before release, in which all interested parties can get their first look at the new CoD 2022 can – most likely from the multiplayer part of the game. Activision has not yet revealed a specific date. But an indication of the start date for the beta has now apparently leaked through the shipping giant Amazon.

Modern Warfare 2: Open Beta – Amazon with notice of launch date

Where does the info about the beta come from? A few minutes ago, leaker size and well-known industry insider Tom Henderson tweeted that Amazon had given an indication of the start date of the Modern Warfare 2 beta. His statement is supported by a screenshot of the Amazon homepage with the cross-gen bundle for the Xbox.

When does the MW2 beta start? According to Henderson and screenshot, the beta will start around August 15th. An on-screen extra note reads: “Order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on any platform by August 15, 2022 to unlock early access to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta. Must be sold and shipped through Amazon. Codes will be sent on August 15th.”

If the Xbox beta codes are sent out on 8/15/2022, a Monday, general early access for all pre-orderers could start this week – probably towards the middle of the week, with a smooth transition into MW2 Open beta for all interested parties. PlayStation players are meant to be the first to enjoy the beta exclusively, and are likely to try Modern Warfare 2 for the first time in the week leading up to August 15th, likely over the weekend.
