Sea of Stars postponed to 2023 - Now the studio is trying to get a demo

The retro role-playing game Sea of Stars has been postponed to next year. Now developer Sabotage has set itself the goal of releasing at least one demo version of the game this year.

Waiting is the player’s frustration

Sabotage is known for his work on the ninja platformer The Messenger and his stunning pixelated style. For Sea of Stars, the studio takes inspiration from Chrono Trigger, while composer Yasunori Mitsuda brings his music to the track.

Sea of Stars was originally supposed to be released this year for PC and Nintendo Switch, but the studio can’t do that anymore.

In a statement, the developer writes, “As we approach a very big milestone, the road to release is becoming clearer and we find ourselves here with a large body of text and our logos at the end.”

“Looking at our two main priorities – quality of life for our team and quality of the finished game – we can now confirm that Sea of Stars will be released in 2023.”

“We understand the wait is a big challenge, and we want to thank our community for the overwhelming support and positive sentiment. In the meantime, we’re exploring opportunities to release a playable snippet later this year.”
