Elden Ring: Do you have the PS5 disc version? Then you can discover a lot of new things in version 1.0

Old content that makes a game really fresh again – That can actually happen. At Elden Ring we’re up after a few differences here and there from version 1.0 that was burned to disc. So if you own these, you have the opportunity to discover new things, even if you already know the Zwischenland inside out.

Play version 1.0 on PS5

It’s all about this: Dataminer Sekiro Dubi shows differences between version 1.0 and the current version of Elden Ring on YouTube. The descriptive text of the video reveals:

[Es ist] not an entirely new game, but from item drops to enemy placement, you’ll find a lot of other things, including armor that was later removed.

Try it yourself: Sekiro Dubi also explains that this version of the game can be found on the PS5 disc version. If you own it and want to discover something new in Elden Ring, you can access it by reinstalling the game from the disc. However, you must disconnect the console from the Internet so that no patches are downloaded. By the way, the digital version started at 1.02.

What about other platforms? Version 1.0 could also be found on other disc versions, for example for the PS4 or Xbox Series X/S. If you are curious and own these disks, you can try it yourself. Unfortunately, we do not have the opportunity to check it for you and it cannot be ruled out that later versions were pressed onto the disc for other platforms.

More on Elden Ring:

Video shows alternative Leyndell

The video in question focuses on one spot in the game where the differences are pretty obvious. It’s about the capital city of Leyndell, where we’ll find enemies that are completely different from those in recent versions of the game. Instead of the Earth Tree soldiers who are now ambushing us there and the oracle envoys with their wind instruments, there are, among other things, banished knights running around. We can even see them paying their respects to the fallen dragon.

You can see for yourself in the video:

Also interesting from a lore perspective: The alternative opponents not only affect the gaming experience, but lead Sekiro Dubi to ask:

When does Elden Ring 1.0 take place?

Well, at least if we look at the capital, it seems as if we are seeing it in an earlier time in this version, because the oracle messengers, who were only added later, are said to be a new time or a new god to announce and also the soldiers of other factions point out that the city is controlled by other powers.

So it could be possible that we should see a different phase of the capital or that several time planes were planned for it. But they could just as easily be placeholder enemies that were later replaced. Either way, it’s exciting that version 1.0 has these differences.
