Something that is probably quite rare in our latitudes is almost common in the USA: behind the drywall, homeowners and apartment tenants keep finding strange messages from former residents. This time TikTokerin kzwpg aka Kaleigh conquers the video algorithm with a creepy find: a skeleton in the wall behind the bathroom mirror!

There are countless videos to admire on the short video platform TikTok every day and most of them are okay, others are below the belt line, many are just lame … and then there are videos that are so strange that they disappear overnight master the algorithm. TikTokerin kzwpg aka Kaleigh posted one such curious video online that promptly went viral. It shows a skeleton in the drywall behind her bathroom mirror!

Boo did I scare you?

Fear not, it was Kaleigh’s find (via Dexerto) is not a real skeleton, but an artificial one, which is also dressed in a shirt and jeans, with a snakeskin-look belt – and you could even pull a message out of the breast pocket. The wording on the note: “Boo, did I scare you? Jason Lane 2013” So the previous owner of Kaleigh’s house was by no means built into the drywall, which he probably could have torn down relatively quickly in his lifetime anyway. According to Kaleigh, Jason Lane left behind a USB stick with photos from the house, showing the building when his grandfather owned it.

Almost common in the USA, rather rare here

Such time capsules, whether as macabre as Lane’s message or as words written on the wall under the wallpaper, have been all the rage in the US for a number of years. Previous owners often leave behind hidden messages, and since people in the United States of America like to and often build with wood and drywall, such things can of course be quickly hidden during conversion work.
