Eurojackpot: record profit of 110 million goes to NRW

Muenster.
Since March, the maximum jackpot can increase up to 120 million euros. Already in May there was a profit above the 100 million euro mark.

The drawing on May 20 succeeded in setting a new German record. The prize money of around 110 million euros went to North Rhine-Westphalia and was thus – so far – the highlight of the birthday year at Eurojackpot. The product turned ten years old in March, and new rules have made Eurojackpot even more attractive since then: the maximum jackpot is now 120 million euros, and a second weekly drawing takes place on Tuesdays.

There was also an anniversary associated with the record win: the huge prize money was won in the 100th jackpot phase of the lottery.

Andreas Kötter, Chairman of the Eurojackpot cooperation: “We are very pleased that we were able to keep the promise we made to players to offer jackpots of over 100 million euros in the future so quickly. At the same time, Tuesday, the second drawing day per week, is established. With the birthday year, we are starting a new, promising era at Eurojackpot.”

More jackpot wins

The first jackpot win of the year was announced on January 21st. Around 24 million euros went to Baden-Württemberg and Lithuania respectively. A week later, a tipper received 11.1 million euros in Slovenia. In mid-March, shortly before his 10th birthday, the Eurojackpot had grown to around 89 million euros. Two lucky guys from Norway and Finland finally split the prize money of 90 million euros and cleared 45 million euros each. On April 1st there was another win in Germany in first place: 24.8 million euros were paid out in Lower Saxony. Most recently, on May 27, 16.8 million euros went to Bavaria.

A further 243 Eurojackpot tippers made their luck in prize categories 2 and 3. They also made big wins there. For a total of ten players, a goal in second place was enough to take home millions.

3000. High Win

In the ten years of its existence, the Eurojackpot lottery has produced over 3,000 top prizes. This milestone was reached in the drawing on June 24th.

As in previous years, Germany remains the number 1 winner in the first half of 2022. Of a total of 261 big wins, 107 went to Germany alone.

At the end of the first half of the year, the Eurojackpot statistics since 2012 now show a total of 367 millionaires and 2642 other high winners in the six-digit range.
